Welcome Friends!
About us: The Animal Center ("The Center") is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity dedicated to helping animals. Our goal is to help end companion animal homelessness and prevent cruelty to animals in Newtown and the broader Connecticut community by providing services that foster the bond between humans and animals.

The Animal Center is working locally to help end companion animal homelessness by developing innovative programs that fulfill the unmet needs of our community.

Adoptions: We're working hard to get stray cats off the street. Homeless kittens and friendly stray cats in the community are accepted into our adoption program based on availability of foster homes (we do not have a shelter). For more information on our adoption program, click here.

Feral Cat Assistance Program: The Feral Cat Assistance Program's goal is to humanely and effectively reduce the population of feral (wild) cats in the Newtown area. The Feral Cat Assistance Program is run entirely by volunteers and uses the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) model to reduce the number of free-roaming felines in our community.
